This year with his Air Force 1 Para-Noise, he is encouraging the youth to focus on themselves to create the resilience and strength they need to persevere and thrive in challenging times. It is the pure state of self-expression and self-actualization. G-Dragon simply calls it, “Youtopia.”
With an array of creative tools at his fingertips, visionary artist G-Dragon has set out to create his own utopia. Though lurking forces keep his utopia at bay, he holds out hope that one day his dream will become reality. As he continues to create, his hope grows and now he’s sharing that hope under a layer of white paint on this next iteration of the AF1 Low x Peaceminusone.
Over time, white paint on the shoe’s upper wears away to reveal a freestyle G-Dragon design, representing his faith in creation. Bearing the logo of his fashion label Peaceminusone on the tongue, these AF1s also feature painted streaks on the midsole, extra thick laces, and a special graphic print on the sockliner.
Introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 redefined basketball footwear from the hardwood to the blacktop. It was the first basketball sneaker to house Nike Air, but its innovative nature has since taken a backseat to its status as a street icon.
