This year’s campaign draws inspiration from a true story behind the origin of Wallabee Day, dating back to April 26, 1971. On that day, a shipment of 4,176 pairs of Wallabees caused confusion at New York’s JFK Airport when customs officials mistakenly thought the cargo contained live wallabies. In preparation, they arranged cages—only to discover boxes filled with Clarks’ iconic shoes.
Bringing this humorous mix-up to life, the Wallabee Day 2025 campaign will showcase Wallabees displayed in wooden crates, adorned with mock customs labels. The campaign will highlight the timeless Maple suede colorway, celebrating the shoe’s classic charm.
Breaking new ground since 1986, Clarks Originals Wallabee is a cultural icon, favoured by hip-hop royalty, britpop legends and everyday tastemakers. To mark the second annual Wallabee Day on April 26th, celebrating the Somerset-born shoe that's found a home -from-home wherever its touched down.
